What people say

I am an advocate for a resident at St Luke’s and I continue to be impressed by the quality of care provided by the staff coupled with the convivial environment. The St Luke’s staff are always friendly and welcoming. They show a high degree of care and empathy with a strong desire to do their best for the residents. They are in my opinion a real credit to the trust and the strongest advocates for what the trust is trying to achieve.

St Luke's is set in its own extensive grounds and there is real feeling of peace and tranquillity about the place. The buildings are well maintained and they have a real ‘homely’ feel about them. Over the last few months the staff and residents have been working hard together in transforming the gardens for horticulture and recreational purposes, and the progress to date has been exceptional.

Thank you St Luke’s for all the work that you have done and continue to do.

"I am a clinical psychotherapist who visits a client at St Luke’s lodge on a weekly basis. St Luke’s always provides a warm welcome and procedures are in place to protect the privacy of residents. The staff are hard working, friendly, respectful and at the same time remain professional. St Luke’s prides itself on being able to provide a secure lodge with  a homely feel. Care is taken to meet the needs of all residents and this care is extended to visitors like myself."

My Name is Julian Gray; I have been a visitor to St Luke’s Trust for around five years. In this time, I have seen a dramatic change within the people supported there.

During my chats with the tenants it has become clear that they have all embraced the changes that have taken place over the past 3 years, they are more talkative (not so insular) able to express themselves and make decisions on how to implement new initiatives such as, the garden project.

I firmly believe that St Luke’s trust can only go from strength to strength with new ideas for the future being discussed to ensure that St Luke’s is safe and pleasurable place to live for years to come – I would recommend you to look!

I have had the opportunity to visit many environments and meet differing people within the field of learning disabilities. I have had the pleasure of visiting St Luke’s Trust and meet the people currently living there, on each visit I have been impressed by the friendly atmosphere and in the way that the staff team interact with the client group.

I believe that each tenant is empowered to make their own decisions, which will ultimately lead to them having an increased purpose and quality of life.

The emphasis of the trust is to work within a therapeutic/homely environment something, which lends itself well to the idyllic surroundings. In my opinion, the need for such placements is vast and the potential for expansion within the wider community is limitless.

The client group seem to be happy when meeting differing people although are keen to establish new links within the wider community, a positive aspect of the work that is carried out at St Luke’s Trust. During my visits, I have noted that the clients enjoy sharing experiences and telling me how the trust has had a positive impact on their lives. I am confident that the work which is taking place at St Luke’s, will only enhance the lives of people who use the service.
